A huge trend recently has been the return of satin fabrics and the return of clean, modern lines. Girls are going back to embellishment free designs with elements of glamour in the form of crystal belts.
For a structured custom made Matric farewell dress, you’re going to pay between R6800 and R7500, depending on the complexity of the design and your fabric choice.
MATRIC DANCE DRESSES WITH ILLUSION BODICES AND BEADED TOPS
A trend that has been around for a couple of years already and is still a winner, is the illusion bodice dress with either a flowing skirt or a fit and flare shape.
With this dress, we cut out beaded laces and hand place them on illusion mesh before carefully hand sewing it to the mesh again. These styles are absolutely stunning but also time consuming, and this style will cost between R8500 and R9 000.
FULLY BEADED OR FULL LACE MATRIC FAREWELL DRESS
This type of dress is in the highest price bracket because of the cost of beaded fabrics, and because they are very tricky to work with. Lace beaded fabrics can cost between R1600 and R3500 per meter, and a full length dress would require 3 to 4 meters.
When working with these fabrics, one has to remove and then re-bead the fabrics to sew, which can take days and weeks.
For this reason, these dresses will cost between R10000 and R25000 depending on fabrics.
